In the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, followers of Jesus, more than ever, need to be praying. You can join a special global prayer call this weekend to pray that Satan’s schemes to use this pandemic are thwarted.
People are contacting us from around the world. They are reporting both the dire effects of the pandemic, but also the global work of prayer.
The last Discerning The Times was very content-heavy. It focussed on equipping those called to step into their place of intercession.
I believe the Lord will continue to equip you as an intercessor and continue to call you into your place of intercession.
Global Prayer Call
I want to invite you to join us for another global prayer call on Saturday, April 4, at noon EDT.
This call will continue to focus on the prophetic words about Passover and Easter being the turning point in defeating this global nemesis. As led by the Holy Spirit we may be called to engage the demonic powers seeking to work Satan’s plans through this pandemic.
Please ask the Lord if He is calling you to attend. Sign up only if Jesus calls you. He is the Commander of the Lord’s Armies.
If the Lord does not call you to be on the call, would you please provide prayer cover for those who are. The call will be taking place this Saturday, April 4, from 12:00 till 2:00 pm EDT.
We need a strong prayer shield for this.
The Lord has told us if we are to have the authority to defeat the virus, as well as the demons taking advantage of the crisis, we must have unity in the body of Christ.
We also need representatives from the different streams of the Kingdom of God. So as last time we will have Rabbi Mark Rantz representing the Messianic Jewish stream, Roman Catholic priest and Benedictine monk, Greg Gresko representing the Roman Catholic stream, and the rest of us representing the Protestant, Reformed, Pentecostal and Charismatic streams.
Added to this prayer call will be Rev. Dr. John Chang, whose Chinese congregations are in the New York City area, which is the present epicentre of the pandemic in America.

An Encouraging Story
Before closing, I would like to tell you one quick story that was a great encouragement to me and maybe to you in this battle.
Right in the middle of this week, full of prayer engagements, I received an emergency call from a pastor. One of their church members, a young person who had just recently accepted Jesus Christ, was violently manifesting evil spirits.
When I got the call I was out at the Community of Cross walking the land and praying that Jesus would manifest his power in the pandemic and push back the evil. The call felt like a major distraction. But I felt the Lord say, “Go! I am with you!”
So joined by a small team, I was the point person in Jesus’ ministry of casting out demons. I can’t give you any details because of confidentiality.
The demons manifested. But so did the presence of Jesus. The manifest presence of Jesus Christ flooded the room, and everyone present, with His love, presence, power and authority. The demons were cast out! It was so exciting and reassuring to see such a visible manifestation of Jesus’ power and authority over the devil as well as Jesus’ healing love.
This prayer appointment took several hours of my time this week!
But as I headed back to the prayer work of dealing with the pandemic, and especially discerning the avalanche of guidance coming through, I heard the Lord say in my heart: “Now that was not a waste of time at all! Not only was a tormented soul set free from Satan’s power, but I demonstrated to you my power and authority over those afflicting demons. I have that same power and authority over these high-level spirits using this pandemic.”
I felt like I was one of the 70 that Jesus had sent out in Luke 10:17, who were returning so excited that they could say, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!” Then came Jesus’ word to them, and I believe to me, and to all of us engaged in this spiritual battle with the powers and principalities behind the human dimensions of this pandemic.
He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”Luke 10:18-20 (NIV)
With this assurance, both of Jesus’ authority over the demonic which He shares with us, and that our names are written in the book of life, let us boldly go with Jesus into the battles he has called us to.
