Binding the Spirit of Lawlessness

Now is the time to blow the trumpet and sound the alarm!

We are in the midst of a spiritual battle with multiple high-level demonic spirits who are intent on bringing chaos and destruction.

But the Lord is calling his intercessors to stand in the gap, and engage in spiritual warfare.

This past week we saw the eruption of riots in various locations around the United States in reaction to a video of white policemen crushing the neck of a black man in Minnesota, as well as the Chinese Communist Party formally negating the “One Nation Two Systems” treaty for Hong Kong. 

Satan’s Counter-Attacks

I believe we have entered the next phase of Satan’s counter-attacks against the advancing of the Kingdom of God that has taken place on two fronts: 

The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit during the interval between Passover/Easter and Shavuot/Pentecost in 2020.  

There has been a great global concert of prayer for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit during the global pandemic. In this period, just in this ministry of PRMI, we have seen many people blessed through PRMI’s Virtual Upper Rooms and other online expressions of the Body of Messiah/Christ.

We are one tributary in a tremendous global move of the Holy Spirit. Slowing the pandemic has required “social distancing” which has shut down the physical togetherness of expressions of Biblical faith – churches and synagogues. But there has been a vast expansion this fellowship of believers over the internet.

This has happened all over the world. God’s work of turning what the devil and his deceived human agents may have intended for evil in the pandemic, into a growing extension of the Kingdom of God.  

Two Improbable Political Leaders

Over the last three years, God significantly advanced His Kingdom purposes through the election of two improbable political leaders:

• Boris Johnson in the United Kingdom and
• Donald Trump in the United States. 

Through these two leaders of the free world, God has worked against the ideological tides of Marxism and globalism. They are restoring the borders protecting and defining our Western culture, and government of liberty and the rule of law based on our Judeo-Christian/Power of Reason values. 

They have also stood against antisemitism and resisted those who would seek to destroy the Jewish people and the state of Isreal. They have also stood against the tyranny of Islamic Jihad and the Chinese Communist Party. 

In what seems like escalating wave after wave, attacks have come against these two leaders and our nations. Beyond the clash of politics and ideologies, high-level demonic powers seem to be seeking to thwart these accomplishments.

These demonic powers oppose God’s plans of constraining tyranny and providing freedom and economic prosperity for the body of Christ/Messiah. It is that freedom that allows the body of Christ/Messiah to fulfill its calling of advancing the Kingdom God.

Counter Attacks

The first phases of Satan’s reactions and counter-attacks against the advancement of the Kingdom of God have begun.

 All the intelligence we are receiving is that starting in the heavenlies and impacting earth, the first phases of Satan’s counter attacks have already begun.

We believe that this is the “hour of the power of darkness” in which evil human actions consistent with Satan’s plans are having an amplifying and multiplying effect.  

 Acts of mayhem and lawlessness are evoking and unleashing high-level demonic beings of Lawlessness, Moloch (fire and death), and Gog (Tyranny and Totalitarian Control). They are, in turn seeking to stir up what I have discerned to be the “Marxist/Hegelian Dialectic.”

If unchecked, first in the heavenlies and then on city streets, this Marxist/Hegelian Dialectic will result in crashing American order and society to prepare the way for the imposition of tyranny.

These demons are feeding on months of frustration and loss of jobs from the Coronavirus lockdown that has destroyed many people’s livelihoods, especially those in the service industries. (All of which were thriving under President Trump’s thriving economy which provided the highest rates of employment for African Americans and Hispanics in recorded history.)

They are also preying on racial hatred and unhealed wounds of past injustice. All of this has been intentionally aggravated by the ideology of intersectionality, which divides us into aggrieved oppressed victim groups.  

An Assessment of the Situation

The current situation has moved beyond the legitimate desire for justice into the intentional creation of anarchy. Joe Cunningham provides analysis that helps us to see what is happening and why we have moved into another phase intended to launch the destructive “Marxist/Hegelian Dialectic.”

The Call to Prayer

Our role as intercessors is to answer the Holy Spirit’s calling to engage in the heavenlies to break these demonic powers.   

Cohorts of PRMI intercessors have been called into the gap to engage these high-level demons. These notices have been sent out to specific intercessors, but now the spiritual battles have escalated to such a degree that we must notify the entire Discerning the Times mailing list as the Holy Spirit is currently mobilizing the larger army of intercessors.

We believe the Lord is calling for urgent Intercession for June 4, 2020, to Bind the Demonic powers of Lawlessness, Moloch and Gog. We shall be gathering for an online Zoom prayer time at 12:00 noon Eastern (adjust for your time zone),

It seems that many events are being planned, in the United States and the United Kingdom, for Thursday, June 4, 2020. There may be significance to this date. The battle of Dunkirk was fought on June 4, 1940, and the battle of Midway started on June 4- 1942.  Both battles were significant in turning the tide of the Second World War. There was significant intercession involved in the battle of Dunkirk.

The Call to Pray Against the High-Level Demonic Spirit, “The Lawless One”

I believe that there are several high-level demonic spirits at work in America and other nations. They are stirring up anarchy and seeking to ignite the Marxist/Hegelian dialectic. There is a progression of high-level demonic spirits beginning with a spirit of lawlessness.  

As I was praying, I had a vision of the Lawless one holding the door open to Moloch, who brings fire and death. Moloch then opens the door to Gog the spirit of Tyranny and Totalitarianism. So let us start with the Lawless one. 

As I have been praying, “Lord, expose which high-level demonic spirits are at work capitalizing on human sin and human ideological movements.” The word keeps coming, “This is the hidden power of lawlessness that is already at work in the world.” These words come from 2Thessalonians 2:3-12. We need to look at the whole passage to see the full impact.

 (3) Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. (4) He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called God or object of worship, and as a result he takes his seat in God’s temple, displaying himself as God. (5) Surely you recall that I used to tell you these things while I was still with you. (6) And so you know what holds him back, so that he will be revealed in his own time. (7) For the hidden power of lawlessness is already at work. However, the one who holds him back will do so until he is taken out of the way, (8) and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will destroy by the breath of his mouth and wipe out by the manifestation of his arrival.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 (NET)

The word “work” is the same Greek word as in 1 Thessalonians 2:13, which speaks of the Word of God at work in us who believe. In this 2 Thessalonians passage, however, this “work” is the opposite of the Word of God. Instead, it is the power of Satan and the lawless one at work in the world.

In reflecting on this, Jon Gurley adds an insight that is a powerful affirmation of the role of prayer in holding back evil:

“Many have debated about who the “one who holds him back” is. Some say it is the Holy Spirit, and others say it is the Church. Since we are given authority over the evil in this world, I believe our call to wrestle against “wicked spirits in the heavenlies” allows us to bind this spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit within us.”

“Both the spirit of lawlessness and the spirit of anarchy are at play here. Other intercessors and I are sensing the need for urgent prayer to bind these activities before they get any further in their activities.”

Guidance for Prayer Strategy for Binding the High-level Spirit of Lawlessness

As we do this, the following prayer strategies and tactics may be employed.

1. Piercing the Cloaking

We always need to pray for the gift of discernment. Discernment allows us to see clearly what Satan is doing and what the Lord is doing.

2. Prayers for Personal and Representative Repentance

Satan plans on stirring up racial hatred and division by playing on past and present injustices. The demons are working to prevent healing and reconciliation. The demonic spirits are finding many willing human agents who will, knowingly or unknowingly, cooperate with them. The hatred and division give both the demons and their human collaborators spiritual and political power.

Through personal repentance first, and then representative repentance this power is broken.

This repentance may seem small, but it is an essential part of God’s overall strategy to defeat this evil. We, as intercessors, must do this in every context. It is a way of taking back the ground yielded to Satan, first, in our hearts and then in the corporate culture.

3. Bind the Spirit of Lawlessness

Our authority, in Jesus Christ, for binding and loosing is found in Matthew 18:18, Mark 3:13, and John 20:23. But intercession at this level should only be engaged in at the direct leading of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. 

In the Name of Jesus, while seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenly places, we bind the spirit of lawlessness.

Very few intercessors are led to engage at this higher level. So far, I have not been called into this direct engagement with the high-level entity (suggested in 2 Thessalonians to be Satan himself).

If you believe the Lord is calling you to this level, please be clear you are discerning correctly and have adequate intercessors covering you. Let the rest of us know so we can all back you up.

4. Interceeding for human beings through which the high-level demons are working.

I believe that for most of us, the call to engage the demon of lawlessness will not be direct, but through the human beings who manifest these demonic spirits. These would be those who are funding, enabling and leading in organizations like Antifa and other organized expressions of this stronghold.

Here are some guidelines for engaging the demons working in these people.

Step 1: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal who to focus on in prayer.

Often, I have found this guidance to come as I have kept up with the news. The Holy Spirit may highlight one name mentioned, among many others. Sometimes the guidance will come as a direct command to pray for that particular person.

Step 2: Confirm this Guidance

Confirm the discernment you receive wherever possible by the rational evaluation of the information received through news media.

The “Hitler” leaders will give themselves away because they are the ones casting Satan’s vision. Look for the vision casters, and there is a good chance that they are strategic in Satan’s plans, or they will lead you to the person who is. Look for those at the center of a creative minority. ¹ 

Step 3: Identify the Demons at Work

Identifying the demons who are working behind a particular leader can be challenging. Again, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you who these demons are.

Step 4: Look for “Revelatory” Events

Usually, during events taking place in the natural realm, one begins to identify both the leaders and the nature of the demons at work. There will be “revelatory” events that expose the true intentions of both the human and demonic actors involved.

Here are some strategies for dealing with the people around whom are being formed the strongholds being expressed in Antifa and other organizations:

These are the primary strategies and tactics of intercession and spiritual warfare which deal with the Demonic/Human interface found in strongholds.

• Separating the demons from the leaders and thus diminishing the human leader’s usefulness to Satan.
• Healing the internal and/or external ground of entry of evil spirits working through the leader.
• Removing the leader from the core of Satan’s stronghold through conversion to faith in Jesus Christ.
• Removing leaders around whom strongholds are forming through democratic or judicial processes, or by supernatural intervention.

I know this is a lot! But we are entering into a complex battle that is close to home and very dangerous.

So please pass on information and guidance you receive either as individual intercessors or as cohorts.

Pray for strong protection for all of us being called into this battle.

1. The Creative Minority is the core group of the stronghold, who have believed the enemy’s deception and work to draw others into that deception.
