I started a series of discernment pieces called, Discerning and Overcoming Strongholds in Local Congregations. I was having a really good response to those articles. So apparently this has really touched a place of great concern as well as common experience. I do want to continue with that series.
Actually, I just taught on the topic in England in early July, where I reviewed some of the teaching on this awful topic and then went on to the process of discerning and overcoming some of the strongholds that were blocking congregations and indeed the whole denomination of the PC(USA).
This lecture, given at the Advanced Course on Healing and Deliverance in Northampton, England addresses the urgent question of how do you know you are dealing with evil spirits instead of just human sinfulness. We then moved to the question of what do you do if you are.
Session 8 A – Introduction To Demonic Strongholds in the Congregation – Why Satan Needs Strongholds
This lecture given by Dr. Brad Long at the Advanced Healing and Deliverance Course to members of the Dunamis Fellowship Britain & Ireland in North Hampton England, UK in July 2014. This video provides a summary of the basic concepts for understanding how and why Satan works through people formed into social and political organizations called strongholds.
Session 8 B – Discerning and Overcoming Demonic Strongholds in the Congregation
This lecture given by Dr. Brad Long at the Advanced Course on Healing and Deliverance to members of the Dunamis Fellowship Britain & Ireland in Northampton England, UK in July 2014 builds on the Introduction to how and why Satan must work through strongholds, to address the next step of how do we discern their presence and overcome them. This includes how do we deal with the person who has provided the entry way around whom Satan may build a stronghold.
This lecture also deals with getting past the demonic cloaking that makes it so difficult to see clearly what the goals and tactics of Satan are in the stronghold.
I hope that this will be helpful to you as you deal with issues in your congregation.
Pray for discernment and also for the power and authority of Jesus Christ to deal with these things.
Also please send in any feedback or questions as well as any reports of your own experience that may help us all in dealing with this most difficult and close topic.
