Israel is in a physical and spiritual war. It is a war, orchestrated and directed by Satan. Understanding and exposing the plans and schemes of the enemy is a vital part of the prayer work that needs to happen.
The events unfolding in the Hamas–Israel war are complex. What is happening there is taking place on so many levels. Cultural, religious, political, propaganda, economic, and humanitarian levels exist. We see events unfolding in the physical realm and it is easy to focus on analyzing them. But, more importantly, there is a spiritual dimension to the conflict. This underlying spiritual dynamic is far more critical but is often overlooked. It is not just a physical battle that is taking place. This is a spiritual battle.
The Apostle Paul reminds us:
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
Unless we understand the reality and nature of the spiritual battles, we cannot understand what is happening in the physical realm. In this Hamas-Israel conflict, we are dealing with evil. It is an evil that is explicitly intent on destroying the Jewish people, an evil that is centered in Radical Islam. We need to understand the problem and have a strategy for intercession.
Brad Long’s two books, Discerning the Times and Prayer Strategy, provide the spiritual insight needed for this spiritual battle.

Discerning the Times: Exposing Satan’s Plans in Radical Islam combines biblical discernment and reasoned analysis to expose Satan’s plans in Radical Islam. Written in 2016, this book works with the example of the then-current threat of ISIS. But the principles apply directly to what is now seen in Hamas.
Thank you so much for this email and your talk, Brad. I have the 2 books already and will start reading them. How can I find out when there are prayer gatherings at the COC on this topic? Now living in Black Mountain, there is a good chance I could join in. Blessings in Christ Jesus,
