Here is an update on what’s been happing with Discerning the Times and a call to pray for peace, order, respect, and unity at the US Presidential Inauguration, Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Please forgive me for not getting out to you the regular Discerning the Times. I received word that a number of you had found those useful in leading your prayer groups and congregations in knowing how to pray for the advancement of the Kingdom of God during such perilous and confusing times.
I heard that many of you were disappointed when they suddenly stopped. Frankly, it was most encouraging to hear that so many of you were finding these so helpful.
There are several reasons why I stopped sending out the Discerning the Times as well as the Prayer Communiques to the entire DTT mailing list.
First was the Lord has been doing a type of “Gideon” approach of gathering a small cohort from the whole army of intercessors. This cohort can effectively move into the high-level intercessory prayer engagements. The Cohort has been meeting regularly to discern, pray, and intercede. Almost all of these engagements have lasted from two to three hours daily for weeks.
The engagements will continue until the Lord directs us to step back for a time of rest and recovery, which we all need. I am happy to say that the Lord has been sustaining us, but there has been considerable cost physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually upon the cohort and on our families.
This cohort has consistently consisted of about 40 people. From the United States, Canada, and Europe. If the Holy Spirit called you into this high-level prayer work and you were dropped off the list, then please forgive me. For leaving you out, that was not intentional on my part but may have been on the Lord’s part.
Why did the Lord do this? It was partly because there was no time for equipping but rather deployment of those already equipped, anointed, or especially called into the Moses work of intercession.
Most everyone on this cohort has been through PRMI’s equipping for intercession. A number are also part of other prayer groups. I have been in prayer with most of this team for years. We have been through several different prayer engagements together. We have learned to function as a team. There is also the remarkable way that the Lord put together this team with a set of gifts needed for this particular prayer battle.
Sphere of Authority
A second reason why the DTT has not gone out to the entire DTT mailing list and why I have neglected to respond to the many emails that you have sent me is because the Lord called me to focus on providing both prophetic and apostolic spiritual leadership over my sphere of authority. This sphere is the stream of the Holy Spirit embodied in PRMI and our Dunamis Project. The Lord has called us, since Pentecost 2020, to pray into a global outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
We have seen a strong reaction to this move of the Holy Spirit by the kingdom of darkness. So, while the apparent context for the current prayer work has been the COVID-19 pandemic and the extremely conflictual and divisive 2020 US Presidential election, the real battle has been and still is very much in the heavenlies.
The Lord has called and anointed me to take the lead in and provide the spiritual cover for the engagements with the raging “powers and principalities.” These demonic forces are raging in response to the Holy Spirit’s movement advancing the Kingdom of God worldwide.
One final block to me getting out something to you is that I simply did not receive any guidance until now that a word needed to go out to the entire mailing list. All the guidance I was receiving was for how the cohort was to engage in the battle and PRMI’s overall ministry direction.
In addition to this, when something goes out to the entire Discerning the Times mailing list, either as a blog or a Prayer Communique, there must be a teaching element to it. This teaching element helps everyone to understand the big picture of how the Lord is working to pour out His Holy Spirit and to advance His Kingdom on earth.
The recent prayer engagements have been so intense and complex that there is simply no space to provide this teaching aspect. That will come later.
However, I have received a word this morning from Earl Rutledge, the President of the PRMI Board, of a word that he wanted to send out, which I witness to.
Prayer for a peaceful, orderly, and respectful inauguration next Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
We condemn the violent activities of last Wednesday, January 7, 2021: the violent entrance into the Capital building, the violation of Congressional halls and private offices, the stealing of personal items from private offices, and the taking of human life.
Please join us in prayer these next ten days
Repenting for the sins of our nation: hatred, violence, forceful entry, stealing, disrespect of leadership, the taking of human lives, and other areas as the Holy Spirit leads
Binding the spirits of violence from our nation in all political persuasions and expressions
Praying for a peaceful, orderly and respectful inauguration on Wednesday, January 20, 2021
Praying for physical protection of the lives of our national leaders
Praying for the healing of our nation, our churches and our families
Let us pray together from our national Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag:
Father God, unite us and our Republic as “one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Come Holy Spirit. Heal our land.
Please join us in praying these next ten days. I will be back in touch when the Lord gives me direction to do so. Thank you for your partnership in this strategic work.!
