Special Prayer Letter From Dr. Brad Long, Executive Director of PRMI
My heart is heavy from the various tragic events of the last few weeks. Terrorist attacks by Isis in France, Lebanon, and Iraq, plus their claim to have brought down a Russian Airliner cause my heart to sink at the loss of innocent lives.
We are not called to despair, but cry out to our God who reigns supreme over the universe, even when it seems bleak.
I am convinced that the terrorist attacks by Isis in France, Lebanon, Iraq, and a Russian airliner is another clarion wake up call to the whole Church of Jesus Christ!
Listen to his moving speech – (Here with English sub titles)
This most recent attack is not just against France, but together these attacks are against humanity.
So what are we to do in response to this most recent attack?
As the Church of Jesus Christ, we are being called to engage in intercessory prayer.
Many of us feel helpless since we are not heads of state nor military leaders. So what can we really do?
I believe God is calling us to the work of prayer and action to defeat this evil.
Ever since the terrorist attacks of 9/11 in the United States, a number of us have been called into the role of high level intercession and spiritual warfare.
I am convinced that this battle is in part against “flesh and blood” — that is, the deceived human beings who are part of the stronghold of Radical Islam who carry out Satan’s plans on earth.
It is also “against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens” (Ephesian 6:12) who are behind the human organizations of Radical Islam.
The battle we are called to is multidimensional and complex.
Is God calling you to join in this complex multidimensional spiritual battle?
Saturday, I was picking up some food for our daughter and grandchildren who were coming over for supper. We live in a small town, so I often meet people I know in the grocery store. This time it was an elderly woman who often takes part in our prayer meetings at the Community of the Cross. She came running up to me and said, “Ok! Ok! Now with what has just happened in France, with ISIS killing innocent people, I need to know what to do! I have heard you talk about the prayer strategy for Jesus’ Victory, but never felt called to get engaged. Now I am called, so what do I do!! We have got to do something to stop this terrible evil before it keeps growing and getting worse!”
I imagine a number of you are feeling the same way.
Is God calling you to join in this work of prayer?
This is the work of praying, “Thy Kingdom Come!” This involves praying and working for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to go into the whole Muslim world to bring these people out of the deception of Islam and into eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Praying thy Kingdom come will also involve joining in Jesus’ campaign to defeat the demonic strongholds of Radical Islam. It will also mean penetrating the deception of the false teaching of Islam itself.
If God is speaking to you about joining in this move of the Holy Spirit to overcome Islam with the Gospel of grace, love and life in Jesus Christ, then please join us.
How to Join our Specialized Prayer Team
We send updates on the ongoing work of intercession and spiritual warfare through our web site, “Discerning the Times”. Sign up for these prayer updates HERE.
I have written a prayer guide entitled, “A Prayer Strategy for Jesus’ Victory over the Demonic Strongholds of ISIS and Radical Islam.” This is a tactical manual for the battle that we have been forced to join. A full book is coming out early next year. Go HERE to download the prayer strategy.
The call that God has put on me personally (and some of us in PRMI), is to give you the practical strategies and tactics that the Holy Spirit is giving us to play our role in actually praying for the defeat of Radical Islam.
Do not just sign up. Start praying now! Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in how to pray.
Here are some prayer points from our team at PRMI:
- For comfort for those who have lost loved ones
- For healing for the wounded struggling for their lives
- For healing for those who witnessed and lived through the atrocity
- For a quick apprehension and bringing to justice of those responsible
- For wisdom for governmental leaders as they determine national responses
- For the whole world to mobilize in a unified front for defeating the demonic strongholds of ISIS and Radical Islam
- For Muslims to come to know Jesus Christ
- For a movement of the Holy Spirit in France to bring a great revival to the Church of Jesus Christ
- For Jesus to be at work in this horror – bringing his peace, hope and victory
- Pray that we can love our enemies and that we won’t descend into hate. Matthew 5:43-45
Pray the Psalms: Many are very relevant. Here are a couple to consider:
If the LORD had not been on our side,
when men attacked us,
they would have swallowed us alive,
when their anger raged against us.
The water would have overpowered us;
the current would have overwhelmed us.
The raging water
would have overwhelmed us.
The LORD deserves praise,
for he did not hand us over as prey to their teeth.
We escaped with our lives, like a bird from a hunter’s snare.
The snare broke, and we escaped.
Our deliverer is the LORD,
the Creator of heaven and earth.
As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One,
and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king —
I say this about the LORD, my shelter and my stronghold,
my God in whom I trust —
he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter
and from the destructive plague.
He will shelter you with his wings;
you will find safety under his wings.
His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall.
For you have taken refuge in the LORD,
my shelter, the sovereign One.
No harm will overtake you;
no illness will come near your home.
For he will order his angels
to protect you in all you do.
They will lift you up in their hands,
so you will not slip and fall on a stone.
The LORD says,
“Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him;
I will protect him because he is loyal to me.
When he calls out to me, I will answer him.
I will be with him when he is in trouble;
I will rescue him and bring him honor.
I will satisfy him with long life,
and will let him see my salvation.

Note: Just several days ago I posted a prophetic word on Discerning the Times. This word came from an intercessor in Alaska, Terri Miller, in which she received the word,
“It is time to wake up! Time to pray; to get serious with the Lord! I see and know that we are living in dangerous and evil times. We must respond to the Lord’s call…” (Go HERE for the full powerful prophetic word.)
