I was up much of last night, called into prayer about President Trump’s trip to the Middle East and for his protection. I have written a longer piece that is being discerned and will go out in another couple of days. I didn’t want to wait on this reminder to pray against the cursing that is scheduled for today.
Thank you for standing in the gap for the President. He needs our prayers.

This relates to the call that I have had of being called as a prayer shield for President Trump. Last night as I was being called into prayer, I had the image of a row of Roman solders forming a phalanx of shields providing spiritual protection for Trump. There were a number of empty places. I saw myself rushing in to fill one of them. But there were still empty places. I asked the Lord, “Who are these?” I felt the Lord say, “These are my people who I am calling as intercessors, but because of their personal dislike and disapproval of the man I have chosen are refusing to follow my call and do their part in the work of prayer.”

Something extraordinary seems to be taking place in the world right now. The occult powers seem to be coming out of hiding and employing their dark arts to overcome the results of the United States presidential elections.
There are many reports of witches and occultists having formal gatherings to curse President Trump, the administration he is putting together, his family, and all who support the agendas represented in his election.

As we “discern the times” amidst the turmoil in the world today, one thing that becomes very clear is our need to pray for our leaders.
Most of us are familiar with the passage in 1 Timothy:
1 Timothy 2:1-2 “First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people, (2) even for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.”
There are of course many ways to understand this mandate. But my understanding is based on John Calvin, who understood the interface between spiritual reality—the Kingdom of God—and the human institutions of government.
