Our place of intercession, the place or sphere which the Lord calls us to so that we can partner with him in advancing the Kingdom of God is modelled in scripture by the prophet Amos.
Amos, a shepherd from Tekoa in Judah was called by God to go from the Southern Kingdom of Judah to the Northern Kingdom of Israel to pronounce God’s judgement.
Amos comes into his place of intercession to stand in the gap for the people of Israel. He is brought into this dynamic relationship with the Lord, where God reveals his plans and purposes to Amos.
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7
In this second video Brad Long shares more about the Prophet Amos and how the Lord called him into his place of intercession.
In our place of intercession we surrender to God’s will and His purposes and he draws us into a dynamic relationship where he reveals His plans and purposes to us.
In the next lesson, we shall look at how God may call us to unlikely and even problematic areas for prayer and intercession.
